How amazing were our little performing Stars!  We are so proud of them learning a dance and performing it on stage to a very packed audience in the church.  We also enjoyed watching the older children's dazzling performances.  The whole school were just brilliant!

We have ended the year wrapped in Christmas magic at Storytellers..

Our celebrations began with a Christmas party filled with laughter, games, snowy play, Santa's mysterious footsteps and a delicious party lunch that set the scene for something very special.

Then came the adventure.. a walk through the valley, where excitement buzzed in the air as we followed the path to Santa's house, hidden deep among the trees. Sharp ears quickly heard the gentle jingle of Santa's bell, and before long, we were greeted by Santa himself, who welcomed the children inside his cosy home.

Santa spoke to the children about the important work still to be done before Christmas, and together they practised a wonderfully festive Santa laugh - hands pressed on bellies, laughter echoing through the trees!  Each child had their own special moment with Santa and was gifted a magical bell to take home, a keepsake filled with Christmas wonder.

After many waves and smiles goodbye, the magic continued as we gathered around the fire pit to enjoy warm, toasty marshmallows before our walk back. 

The children behaved impeccably throughout the day, and witnessing the awe, excitement and pure belief in Christmas through their eyes was nothing short of magical.

A huge thank you to our incredible Storytellers, families, and friends for your continued support throughout the year, and a very special thank you to Santa and his family for creating such a truly enchanting experience that the children will remember forever.

Family Carol Service
It was wonderful to see so many families in a very full Egloshayle Church last week for our Carol Service. Well done to our string group, choir and readers for what was a lovely occasion.

Christmas Fun Run
Thank you and congratulations to everyone for raising a staggering £1030 for Children's Hospice South West in our recent Christmas Fun Run.

Christmas Raffle and Winter Fayre
FOWPA would like to thank all parents and carers for their support with the Christmas Raffle. We raised over £700 to help fund school improvements, trips and supplies. All winners have been contacted to collect their great prizes, mostly donated by local businesses of Wadebridge and Camelford, including: Williams Butchers; Party PA; The Molesworth; Hendra; Bodmin Railway; Ann's Cottage; Cheeses at Wadebridge; Vision's Hair Salon; The Nuthatch; Kiln Craft; Trevathan Farm; Wadebridge Sports and Leisure Centre; Camelford Leisure Centre; Wadebridge Computers; Steve Heard Butchers; Pencarrow House and Camelford Hardware Shop.

We hope everyone enjoyed this year's Winter Fayre, which is fast becoming a WPA festive tradition! We were pleased to see so many families attend. With your support we raised over £800 to support improvements to the school and fund equipment and trips that benefit the children. We couldn't do it without you, so thank you!

Nursery and Reception Singalong
Well done to all the children in Nursery and Reception for their spectacular sing along this week. The hall was packed to hear some well-known festive tunes, performed so brilliantly by the youngest children of the school. KS1 Nativity Performing to over 300 family members in just one day, our KS1 children certainly shone. Congratulations to all the children (and staff) for their amazing performance of A Bundle of Joy.

Cinema Trip
Thank you to Wadebridge Cinema for hosting us on two occasions this week - the children enjoyed watching the films. Thank you to the parents who supported walking the children down and back up(!) the hill.

English Success
We are incredibly proud of our young writers in Year 6B who have taken part in the Young Writers poetry competition, "I Have a Dream." A fantastic number of children from the class have had their poems selected for publication, which is a wonderful achievement and a testament to their creativity, imagination, and hard work. Their poems will be included in an anthology due to be published in February next year, and we are very much looking forward to receiving and sharing our copy in school. This is an exciting opportunity for our pupils to see their writing in print and to celebrate their voices as young poets. Well done to everyone involved!

Our Reading Ambassadors recently organised a wonderful creative competition - a "book in a diorama." Pupils were challenged to bring their favourite stories to life, and the results were truly impressive. The Reading Ambassadors joined Miss Johnston in judging the entries and were amazed by the effort and imagination on display. We saw fantastic dioramas inspired by stories such as Harry Potter, Commotion in the Ocean, Paddington Bear, The Secret Seven and The Christmas Story, to name just a few. Some entries were incredibly detailed - we even had real water used in one of the designs! A huge well done to everyone who took part (including parent participation). The Reading Ambassadors are already looking forward to organising the next competition, so watch this space!

On Wednesday 7th January at 2pm, there will be a Parent Cafe with Vanessa from the Autism in Schools Team. Please meet arrive at reception by 1:55pm. And finally.. Today we hosted our annual WPA staff pantomime for the children. It was a particularly moving event (and that's not just the staff dancing) as it marked the 20th anniversary of the same pantomime Mr Langton first performed all those years ago. We ended the panto with a very special farewell to a wonderful member of staff. We will miss you Mr Langton and wish you all the very best. It's certainly been a very long term, with so many memorable learning and enrichment opportunities. Thank you for all your continued support and to our dedicated staff for all their hard work throughout such a busy term.

Just like that, we have reached the end of the Autumn term! The weather hasn't exactly been Christmassy but the songs and festive cheer have been felt in school! The children have been enjoying their final week with some learning and fun Christmas activities. The Pirate Game is always a hit in KS2 and Class 1 have been making some amazing crafts, Christmas lunch was again superb on Wednesday - Thank you to Anna for putting on such a delicious spread! The children had great fun with their parties yesterday. Thank-you to the PTFA for providing the food - there was so much that we were able to enjoy a snack this morning! Is was a sad day yesterday as we wished Miss Bawden well as she left for the next stage of her journey. We know she will be missed but has promised to come and see us all in the new year. All that is left for me is to wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year from everyone at Darite. Whatever you do and wherever you go, we hope you have time to relax with family and friends over the festive period. We are looking forward to welcoming the children back to school on Tuesday the 6th January 2026!

What a festive week we have had! Thank you to the lunch time team for our lovely Christmas dinner on Tuesday. Well done to Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 for their wonderfully unique nativities. Year 3 and 4 enjoyed Aladdin at the theatre and year 5 revelled in the Liskeard We Will Rock You performances! The children have done so well this term - lots of progress and the foundations for the year have been set so they can thrive as they return in the Spring! Thank you so much to the staff team here who have worked endless hours to make it all happen. It really is a great team here. St Cleer Primary will celebrate 150 years in 2027 - in the run up to this the school is working with the Parental Engagement Framework and will be planning a celebration of this remarkable event in June 2027. We are at the early stages of gathering your views and looking at how we can engage with the wider community too. If you had a moment to complete this short survey we would be very grateful.

As we come to the end of the term, we would like to wish all of our Tregantle families a very merry Christmas!

It has been an incredible first term in Tregantle class, and we are so proud of everything the children have achieved. From learning their sounds and writing their names to making lots of new friends, the progress they have made in such a short time has been wonderful to see. It has truly been a privilege to get to know each and every child and to support them on their learning journey.

We have already shared so many memorable moments together, from exciting school trips to our fantastic Christmas production. These experiences have helped to make this term extra special and full of enjoyment.

We hope you all enjoy a wonderful Christmas break, filled with happiness, rest, and special time with loved ones. We are very much looking forward to welcoming everyone back in the spring term for more fun, learning, and new adventures. Best wishes and festive cheer, Team Tregantle

 Storytellers had the most magical festive outing as we headed to Bodmin Railway to board the Santa Express heritage steam train. The excitement was sky-high as the children eagerly climbed aboard, watching in awe as the steam curled around the track and the train slowly pulled away with a cheerful whistle!

 During the journey, the children enjoyed Christmas craft activities-and then came a truly unforgettable moment. Santa himself appeared on board, greeting each child with a smile and spending time chatting with them. Every child received a special present, making the experience even more magical.

On the return trip, our wonderful PTFA made sure no tummies rumbled by providing delicious treat bags for everyone.

Back at the station, the fun continued as the children met the Elf and Rudolph, before setting off for an extra treat, a McDonald's lunch! They sat together beautifully, and even members of the public commented on how well-behaved, polite, and joyful they all were.

A huge thank you to our fabulous helpers and to the brilliant PTFA, whose support makes these memorable experiences possible for our children.

We have reached the last day of term and i'm sure everyone is excited about the Christmas break ahead!
It has been a busy week at nursery. On Tuesday afternoon we enjoyed joining the school for a special Christmas assembly with the Rev Richard.
The children all sat so beautifully and listened really well. 

We enjoyed Chrsitmas dinner on Wednesday where the children wore party hats that they had decorated and today (Friday) the children have had a great time at our nursery party where they have played party games and had a party food lunch.

We are wishing all of our chidren and their families a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and we look forward to seeing you all when we return in January.
Monday 5th January is an INSET day so we return and will see everyone on Tuesday 6th January 2026.

What a week it has been in Landaviddy class! 

Our Christmas play, Lights, Camel, Action! was a hit! We are so proud of the enthusiasm from all the children and all their hard work paid off. Everyone was just amazing! Thank you to those who came to watch and support the class. We hope you enjoyed it! 

During Computing this week, we have been filming our Stone Age stop motion animations. As you can imagine, the children thoroughly enjoyed using their chosen objects and backgrounds, to create their animations. In History, we have been looking at Neolithic tools and artefacts, making assumptions about what life must have been like due to the evidence discovered. In particular, we revisited Skara Brae and explored a range of objects that archaeologists had uncovered. During Art this week, we used natural materials to mark make, just like Stone Age artists! As well as using a variety of spices as pigmented paints. This was a lot of fun!

In English, we have just started a new unit on shape Poetry, starting by discussing a range of poetry and identifying features. Today, we explored a poem called 'Snow is Falling' and discussed our likes and dislikes. We have been subtracting 2-digit numbers from 3-digit numbers, which required a lot of determination. 

Congratulations to Dexter and Brody for being chosen as Landaviddy's People of the Week. And a big well done to Darragh for achieving his 99 club.

We've had a week of Christmas performances, and everything has gone smoothly! The children have put great effort into learning their lines and preparing for their roles, and it has been good to see their hard work come together on stage. We would also like to thank parents for their support at home in helping the children practise and feel confident. Their involvement has made a noticeable difference. We appreciate everyone's contribution during this busy time.
