Dani Towe is the Trust Lead for English. With a background of teaching in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 in a range of settings, she provides training and support for all staff across Bridge Schools, whilst offering consultancy services to primary and secondary schools across Cornwall and Devon.
Dani is a Specialist Leader for Education in English (SLE), a Lead Writing Moderator for the Local Authority and a Trustee for the Fowey Festival of Arts and Literature. She is an Impact Coach for the Visible Learning CPD across the Trust and has recently completed a Masters degree in Education – specialising in reading.
Dani also leads a range of community based projects with links to literacy or that promote a message about sustainability and environmental awareness. In the past 5 years, she has led a Young Rangers Project with the National Trust, worked on ‘Travelling Classrooms’ projects with GWR, which promote use of the local branch lines in Cornwall and Devon, as well as helping with gardening clubs and heritage projects which focus on our role in protecting local wildlife. One of these projects also featured on BBC Countryfile.
Most recently, Dani has led 2 large-scale, trust-wide environmental projects during the lockdowns, one with the Eden Project, based on the book, ‘The Lost Words’ and a ‘Nature in My Neighbourhood Project’ with the National Trust which gave children across Bridge Schools the opportunity to learn more about the wildlife in their local communities and become ‘guardians of nature’. The ‘Lost Words Project’ with Eden also led to children’s work being displayed at a special environmental concert with the author and illustrator of the book at the Natural History Museum in Spring 2021.
